3D sculptures
In Art this week, the children were challenged to make a self-supporting 3D sculpture out of cereal boxes using no glue! They practised making different folded shapes and used different joining techniques such as slotting and balancing. The sculptures were inspired by the work of American artist, Robert Morris, whose interactive large-scale sculpture was in the Tate in 2009, which consisted of a series of beams, weights, platforms, rollers, tunnels and ramps that people could clamber all over. The children were thoroughly engaged in the lesson and produced some fantastic structures.
