Melting points!

In Science, the children have been learning about solids, liquids and gases. They carried out an exciting experiment to investigate how quickly different solids melt, testing chocolate, wax, ice, cheese and butter. The class predicted that ice would melt the fastest, but they were surprised to discover that butter melted first! We also learned why understanding the melting point of solids is important for scientists, for example when choosing suitable materials for different purposes such as cooking equipment.
