Boss and apprentice

In Mrs Ford’s Year 4 Maths group, the children have been mastering column subtraction with exchanging. To consolidate our learning, we played boss and apprentice today, where the ‘boss’ guides their ‘apprentice’ through all the different steps in completing a calculation - using mathematical language. The children were fantastic in both roles - and thankfully no one was fired!
