How to Turn Your Teacher Purple! - National Poetry Week

This week the children in Hornbeam have been looking at the poem “How to turn your teacher purple” by James Carter. The theme for this years National Poetry week is “play”, which we have interpreted as a poem about “playing”. Children practiced reading the poem, discussed the features, rewrote their own poems and then performed it (in the video below and to their peers.) Hornbeam did a great job this week with their public speaking!
