Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Robert Bakewell Primary School we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of their needs, are supported to achieve their full potential. We provide a range of support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and work closely with families, staff and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the provision they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.

How we support pupils with SEND

At Robert Bakewell Primary School we support pupils through:

  • High quality teaching in the classroom

  • Scaffolding and Adaptive strategies

  • Small group interventions

  • Individual learning plans

  • Access to specialist staff and external agencies where appropriate

  • Social, emotional and sensory support

  • Close partnership with parents and carers

We follow a graduated approach of:

Assess → Plan → Do → Review

This ensures that support is regularly reviewed and adapted to meet each child’s needs.
