The Stone Age
In our first lesson, we explored the question: “Were Stone Age people only interested in hunting and shelter?” The children examined fascinating pieces of evidence, including cave paintings, carved bones and antler headdresses. They discovered that, while survival was certainly important, Stone Age people were also creative and curious — they made art and took part in special ceremonies too! In our second lesson, we explored how life in Britain changed when Stone Age people learned how to farm. The children discussed which changes were the most important, which were less significant, and what stayed the same. They worked brilliantly in teams to sort different statements and explain their reasoning — showing great collaboration and thoughtful discussion!
