Birch
Welcome to Birch!
This term’s topic is all about Being me in my world and we will be exploring our learning question
“How can I express myself through making marks?
Our first few weeks in English will be focused on the fundamentals of writing, remembering how to build our sentences correctly, using punctuation and retelling a story in our own words. We will be using the story “Funny Bones” to support us in developing our writing skills.
In Art, we will be exploring how to draw different types of lines and the use of different mediums in a piece of work. We will be using artists such as Bridget Riley and Zaria Forman as inspiration to create our own pieces!
We love reading at Robert Bakewell, so please try to read as much as possible with your child at home, we cannot wait to hear all about their exciting reads!
Please keep an eye on our class page for regular updates and as a window to our fantastic learning!
Our P.E lessons take place on a Wednesday and a Thursday. Please ensure your child comes into school in their P.E kit on those days each week. Also, please ensure your child has a water bottle in school everyday.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything, then please feel free to email the school office.
