Clay Birds

This week, the children have enjoyed working with Mrs Altimas to make birds using clay. We began the process by learning how to sculpt other animals with playdough. Once we had experienced shaping dough, we were able to move on to using clay. First they began by shaping the bird’s body and beak using their fingers. They then used a variety of tools to add details such as wings, feathers, and eyes. Once they have dried, we will be putting them in the kiln in order to make them hard. Next week the children will have the opportunity to paint them. We cannot wait to see the final result.
