Glazing

This week was step 2 of the process towards our bird sculptures. The children were very excited to see their birds return from the kiln. Children had to think carefully about how to highlight the key features of their bird using the glaze. They considered which colours would best bring their designs to life and took great care as they painted the glaze on. An important part of the learning process was understanding that glaze looks different once it has been fired in the kiln. We are very much looking forward to seeing the finished pieces and celebrating each child’s unique bird.
