Colour mixing

The children have had a fantastic start to Year 1!

In Art, we have been learning about primary colours and discovering which secondary colours we can create by mixing primary colours together. The children have enjoyed experimenting with different colour combinations and seeing what happens when colours are mixed.

This week, we explored the work of the artist Jasper Johns. We looked closely at one of his paintings featuring numbers and discussed the colours, patterns and techniques he used. The children then had a go at creating their own artwork inspired by Jasper Johns, using numbers and colour to recreate the style of his painting.

We have been so impressed with their creativity and enthusiasm!
