Painting our batik patterns
This half term in our Fabric of Nature art unit, the children explored colour, pattern and texture through a rainforest-inspired batik project. They began by creating mood boards and sketching rainforest animals from different perspectives using oil pastels to develop ideas for their final designs. The children then transferred their patterns onto fabric using glue. Once the glue had dried, the children painted their fabric using colours inspired by their mood boards and the vibrant flora and fauna of the rainforest. They selected bright tropical shades, rich greens and earthy tones to bring their designs to life. The finished batik pieces beautifully captured the patterns and colours of the rainforest, and the children showed great creativity and patience. Well done, Lime Class!
