Welcome to the Willow Class Page

Thank you for all of your support during the winter; as the weather begins to warm up, we will be continuing our exciting learning journey in Year 5/6.

Our history topic focusses on the experiences of Britons during World War 2 and we will be basing our reading sessions around this period in history in order to give the children a deeper understanding of the time period. In science, we will be studying the concept of light and will construct a periscope in D&T in order to practically demonstrate the fact that light travels in straight lines.

There will be lots of special events throughout the term which will include a visit to the university to show the children what they can aspire to achieve in their education.

Our PE days Mondays and Tuesdays, with a focus on hockey and fitness. Please ensure children come to school dressed in their PE kit. This includes black tracksuit, white t-shirt and trainers.

Reading is incredibly important, so please try to ensure your child reads every day at home and log it onto Boom Reader. Our class book this term will be The Boy in the Tower.

We will continue to upload photographs and star of the week certificates onto this page so please visit at least once a week to see how we are getting along in class.

Thank you.
